Who is Finish the Mission?
Finish the Mission Veteran Relief Fund (FTM) was founded in 2014 by Tom Antor after his own father, who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, entered a local veterans’ care facility. Seeing how alone and vulnerable his father and the other veterans were, Tom dedicated himself to increasing the quality of life of West Michigan veterans like his dad. He wanted to make sure no veteran was forgotten. Taking initiative, he gathered a small group of like-minded patriots and planned the first Freedom Cruise, which consists of a Ceremony for the Fallen and an Honor Ride. With the success of the first Freedom Cruise, Tom’s project became our 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Finish the Mission Veteran Relief Fund, and the Freedom Cruise remains our signature event.
More than nine years later, our goals remain the same: REMEMBER and HONOR those who have given their lives to preserve our freedom, acknowledge the service of and give back to our veterans, and assist with the critical needs of the West Michigan veteran community. To accomplish these goals, the Finish the Mission Board of Directors hosts the annual Freedom Cruise, plans and participates in patriotic events and activities, assists other local veterans’ organizations, and awards financial grants to individual veterans.
During this challenging time, West Michigan veterans need assistance with food, utilities, rent, out-of-pocket medical, and emergency home repairs costs. Donations can be made here, as well as at the event, with all proceeds benefitting Finish the Mission Veteran Relief Fund.
